The Play Project Community Agreement
We Play. We Connect. We Grow.
The Play Project is built on the belief that children learn best through meaningful relationships, joyful experiences, and purposeful play.
When families join The Play Project, they become part of a community.
Together, we create an environment where children feel safe to explore, make mistakes, try new things, and build confidence.
The Play Project Believes:
-
Every child deserves to feel valued, respected, and included.
-
Play is a powerful tool for connection, learning, and growth.
-
Children develop skills through practice, support, and positive relationships.
-
Every child is unique, and successful participation may look different for everyone.
Creating a
Positive Community
Families help create a welcoming environment by treating children, caregivers, and Play Project staff with kindness and respect.
Communicating Openly
Families share important information that helps us support their child, and communicate with staff if questions or concerns arise.
Families Commit To
Partnering With Us
Families understand that staff and caregivers work together, and commit to working collaboratively if concerns arise.
Supporting Participation
Families encourage children to participate and engage with the group while recognizing that every child develops at their own pace.
Respecting the Program Structure
Families understand that consistency, group connection, and predictable routines are intentional, and that regular attendance builds belonging.
The Play Project Commits To
-
Providing engaging, purposeful, play-based experiences.
-
Creating an environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged.
-
Using relationship-first and restorative approaches.
-
Supporting children in developing communication, confidence, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and social skills.
-
Communicating honestly and respectfully with families.
Finding The Right Fit
We believe every child deserves an environment where they can be successful. While we work hard to create inclusive and supportive experiences, families understand that programs have specific structures, group sizes, and support levels.
If we determine that a program is unable to meet a child's needs, we will communicate with the family and discuss next steps. In some situations, The Play Project may recommend an alternate program or discontinue participation with a refund for any remaining unused sessions.

Our goal is never exclusion. Our goal is belonging, success, and finding the environment where every child can thrive.
By participating in The Play Project, families acknowledge that they have read and agree to support the values, expectations, and community approach outlined above.
Together, we bring play back.
